Invitation to "Journey to Freedom: The Vietnamese Refugees Retrospective" -- May 1 to 4, 2009

Dear Honored Guests and Friends,

Thanks to many kind and generous contributions, we are happy to present the program “Journey to Freedom: The Vietnamese Refugees Retrospective” taking place May 1st through May 4th, 2009, featuring the following events:

1. Friday May 1st, 2009: Welcome Reception Dinner – 06:00pm – 10:00pm at Fortune Restaurant - 6249 Seven Corners Ctr, Falls Church, VA‎ - (703) 538-3333‎

2. Saturday May 2nd, 2009: Symposium “Journey to Freedom: A Boat People Retrospective” - 08:30am – 04:30pm – at the Library of
Congress, Jefferson Building, 1st Street S.E., between Independence Avenue and East Capitol Street. Room LJ 119. Metro station Capitol South.

The Symposium is free to all, but seats are limited (200) and pre-registration is required. Please RSVP with Reme Grefalda Last day to register is April 15, 2009.

3. Sunday May 3rd, 2009: Free day for guests to explore Washington DC. Attached please find a guide to activities in the DC area. Below are links to maps that may be useful to you and your family:

4. Monday May 4th, 2009: 06:00pm – 08:00pm Candlelight Vigil at the Capitol Reflection Pool, in memoriam of all who perished or sacrificed at sea or on land in the journey to freedom.
