Voice of Vietnamese Americans would like to congratulate Daphne Kwok, chair and co-founder of APIAVote, on her appointment by President Obama to chair the Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. With many accomplishments in making positive impacts on our nation’s large and diverse AAPI community through community leadership and civic engagment, Ms. Kwok deserves VVA’s highest praise for her newly appointed leadership position in the Obama Administration.
The Advisory Commission is part of the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders that is tasked to improve the quality of life and opportunity for Asian Americans and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. Ms. Kwok, currently serving as the executive director of Asians and Pacific Islanders with Disabilities of California, has over two decades of experience in promoting civic engagement and expanding opportunities for Asian American and Pacific Islander communities across the country.
