VVA Statement on Newly Appointed U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam David B. Shear

VVA extends warm wishes to veteran Foreign Service Officer, the Honorable David B. Shear, as he begins his first U.S. ambassadorial term in Vietnam.

Ambassador Shear represents the United States in Vietnam and will be the chief diplomat to represent, and convey requests from, Vietnamese Americans to the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Ambassador Shear was sworn in as Ambassador to Vietnam on August 4, 2011.

Voice of Vietnamese Americans sincerely thanks Ambassador Shear for his unequivocal role in promoting the cultural, economic and political relationship of the two nations.

Voice of Vietnamese Americans will support Ambassador Shear in this special role and wishes the Ambassador and his family all the best.
