Check it Out: Two Voter ID Bills that We Don't Need

Prepared and provided by Virginia New Majority, the chart below compares two voter ID bills, one from the Senate and one from the House, that passed their respective chambers a few weeks ago. These should have been defeated. Both of them do away with official ballots for people who cannot show ID and allow them to only cast provisional ballots, which are less likely to be counted.

Current law allows voters who do not show ID to sign a sworn statement to cast official ballots. But both laws, as seen below, will seek to change that, claiming that they are solving a problem that doesn't exist in Virginia
