VVA Joins Civic Groups to Rally Against Vote Suppression Bills in Virginia

FAIRFAX, Va. (Feb. 1) – Voice of Vietnamese Americans invites Virginians to join forces in a rally on February 2 in West Springfield to oppose vote suppression bills being introduced in the General Assembly of the Commonwealth by Delegate Dave Albo and Delegate Tim Hugo.

“Our fundamental freedom will be stripped from us if we do not speak up against these attempts that suppress the vote,” Genie Nguyen, VVA President stated. This rally is part of a statewide fight to protect the fundamental right to vote, as well as the fight to secure access to affordable healthcare and other basic services for Virginia residents

“We are educating our community about issues and proposed policies that could detrimentally affect hardworking Virginians and their families,” Ms. Nguyen said. “Within days since our campaign launch, we have heard from and received the support of hundreds of Fairfax County residents, and we are gaining more momentum each day.”

VVA has been educating Fairfax County residents about its advocacy of several issues.
